While a Tricolor is one of the prettiest Heron not much good can be said about marsh mud. In this image we have plenty of it too.,

This photo seemed a good one to work out some of the functions I need in an image editor. Like most photographers I use Adobe Lightroom. There has been much complaining about the cost of the software, a price increase, and having to pay an ongoing subscription fee to use it.

Me, well I’m OK with their business model. However I am not OK with how often Lightroom decides to move like a slug, and make the program unusable with other issues.

I use many DxO programs. Technically they are very good, even their competitors like Adobe rely on some of their technology.

So I have updated my DxO systems where needed, fine tuned any to work seamlessly with each other and Adobe. Below is a photograph that really needed work. Nothing blatant but small stuff usually done in Lightroom.

I think it did what was expected, what any photographer would want. More important it’s fast and stable. No Abode AI functions, however I’m not quitting Abode. I’m just maybe sidelining it except for certain features. Like many of us did with Photoshop, which I deleted from my hard drives.

Finished with DxO Photolab 8, DxO NIK Color Efex.
