Heading Out, Brown Pelican

Heading Out, Brown Pelican

Below a Brown Pelican passing by, heading out towards the harbor and ocean.

The Pelicans fly straight down the ‘creek’, piers and docks on both sides. Commercial shrimpers tie up and unload here giving sea birds plenty of opportunities for free food.

I always think how easy it should be to photograph them here. Reality sets in when they pop up out of nowhere and sail low over the water…right by me completely surprised.

    1. And when you did see them they were either flat against the sky, or the background was a mess for focus 😂🤣😂🤣. Oh how I feel your pain…. I think the only good shots I get are when at the same level as they are, which is hard to find 🥹.

      Good things it’s digital isn’t it 😄😄.
