One of those instances when a birds name actually makes sense. A Ruddy Turnstone lives along rocky shores, feeding by turning over stones to find small prey.
Breeding up in the far north, then moves to the coast line world wide. One of those birds that pretty much live everywhere.

They certainly were happy to have our company while shooting these. We walked along the shore here and found several groups.

Well, almost anywhere. Here, they only stay for the winter; come spring, they head north to their breeding grounds. So I’ve never seen them in their breeding plumage.
