The Red-shouldered Hawks are pairing up now. I think they are setting their territories and traveling together. Mating is not for a while, but we should start to see them more often.
I spotted one just as I entered the swamp area, loud birds but no noise this time to give them away. A lucky glance actually.

I had noticed just one, grabbed a few shots and waited for Ellen to meet up. I pointed towards one when I saw her, but she was already photographing the other that I had completely missed.
Hawks here have a few favorite trees, these two were in the old tall dead ones where the trails meet. Wetlands below are filled with Crayfish so they have food below and a good view of the swamps.


How accommodating. I like willing subjects.
