While not full breeding color this Red-shouldered Hawk is still a beauty.
Ellen spotted him near the Heron rookery. We looked around but never did see the mate. A pair of Red Shoulders nest here each year, this is part of their hunting territory.
These hawks claim a large hunting territory. However there seems to be at least two pair here every year.
