Dull light always seems to bring out the best color and contrast photos for me. This little bird helped reinforce it. I’m not known for my ‘little bird’ skills 😝.
He sat down off to my right, gave me a pose or two, and flew off when his job was down. No fuss no muss.
🥰❤️ Love cardinals! They were often around in Ontario and Quebec when I lived there, and their sudden flash of crimson colour was always wonderful to see.

A little overcast and mist helps bring out their colors like you said. I found a couple the other day and with the sun out it was tough shooting in the shade.
I’m guilty of ignoring the smaller birds for those reasons.
