Soft Morning Light, Tricolored Heron

This was taken in an open salt marsh pond early morning.

There was light, enough to see the birds. Many were just silhouettes, others had a little more detail but not much else. The water reflections looked like the could be good.

I say all this because like any photographer a huge pond filled with wading birds will be photographed. A lot, and many different settings.

Ultimately I did get some decent shots, a few really good ones too. Everything needed some post processing, but even film gets a dodge and burn.

These shots were a ‘note to self;  just shoot what you can.

    1. Thanks. The mangrove was filled with wading birds, some close. The light was really dull though. Shot everything anyway, got this. And… a good number of Reddish Egrets LOL. Just didn’t know at the time. Could have been Tricolor 😝
