Anything with a plastic red vinyl looking head is certainly not common.

Related to the Rail and Coot I find them all around the marshes and swamps. There are a lot of them, and everybody wants to eat them. Considered the ‘chicken of the swamp’ birds.

Another interesting point of the Gallinule… they have the Gawd Awful Ugliest chicks, almost as bad as the Anhinga. And that’s bad.
