For the most part these birds prefer to be under some kind of cover. It might be trees, hanging thick branches, whatever.

In Port Royal some will show up out in the open. They mix with the Tricolors and Little Blues. They still nest in hides so I assume we will only see the chicks after they are branching.

This bird was being careful and checking the sky. I don’t think he liked the high Wood Storks flying overhead.
