Wood Storks, adult with some chicks.
I think it’s amazing to be able to get shots like this. There was a time the storks would only be in the most remote places out in the marshes. Now they nest with all the other wading birds.

The other hard part about getting shots like this was the camera gear. I would be holding huge heavy cameras and big lenses not that long ago. These were hand held shots using OM Systems (Olympus). A long lens is more than 50% lighter, the same with the camera body. I joke how in the past I carried a camera pack, now I have a purse 😂.

Photographed with an OM-1 mk2, OM 100-400 II (EFOV 200-800).
What a beautiful photo
Storks are really beautiful.
Thanks. 😁 Good to hear you appreciate them. Not everyone gets past their bald head lol
Great to see them up close! Love the photo of the chick 😊
This rookery is one of the few places you can actually see the chicks. Most of us have gone to great lengths to photo them in past years. Now I can just stand and wait…and wait…
Soooooo Cute!
It’s really great to be able to see them like this 😁😁
Nature’s colors at their finest. This is such a soothing perspective.
