I was carefully watching this Green Heron, I had even taken several shots of him. Yet somehow I missed the ‘snatch’ of the big minnow.
I think he was having a hard time hanging onto the small fish. As quick as he could, the fish was ‘down the hatch’. I guess you don’t take chances with a nice catch.

Surprise shots for me. The bird was in some thick branches. Usually I don’t try for these shots, too awkward.

Nice sequence Ted. Those kind of situations and shots are fun because they can be challenging and then getting results makes it all the better.
At the end of the day my favorites are always the series. They tell a story, and that’s what photography is all about for me.
Nature’s colors at their finest. This is such a soothing perspective.
