I was carefully watching this Green Heron, I had even taken several shots of him. Yet somehow I missed the ‘snatch’ of the big minnow.
I think he was having a hard time hanging onto the small fish. As quick as he could, the fish was ‘down the hatch’. I guess you don’t take chances with a nice catch.

Surprise shots for me. The bird was in some thick branches. Usually I don’t try for these shots, too awkward.
Nicely done! It’s amazing they can see much in that thick duckweed.
