I don’t know what this brush is but it’s all along the edge of swamps and marshes. It grows to be thick and branches can get fairly large, almost tree like.
Below a Green Heron was just walking along branches, always keeping an eye on the water below. I’m never sure if they are looking at food or danger. Both are down there.


I really like GHs, they seem pretty content whenever I am around them, don’t mind the big glass pointed at them and as you pointed out usually very intent on the dangerous or fruitful depths. That and their slinky necks make me smile.
Around here they love to hunt/fish by hanging almost upside down near the waters surface. Really hard shots to get but so cool when you manage one.
