Like most wading birds the Tricolored Heron can freeze in one position and not flinch for an extraordinary amount of time.

If nothing happens they move a few feet and start all over again. It must work because there are Tricolors all over the Lowcountry. LOL

Look in the background. He is sharing his space with several large turtles and an Alligator. I don’t think I noticed the gator until looking at the photograph. 😂
