White Ibis hunt in the mud. The thicker the better. Yet they rarely get dirty. They must have an unusual amount of oil on their feathers.

However, look at this one on her nest. I thought it was a juvenile with the brown feathers at first. Her long curved bill has a completely different color now. She must have been deep in the local swamp to look like this.
