This photograph just looks like a jungle scene. Tall grass, big palms in the background. It fit the bird, an Anhinga, perfectly.

The Anhinga originated in the Amazon of South America. Slowly they spread north and now live here year round. The soft brown neck feathers ID this as a female. These are aggressive birds, and here only the Alligators prey on them.
