With the melting of the unusual ice and snow both birds and photographers are finally out and about.
The large marshes are filled with migratory birds.
This is a mixed flock of both White and Glossy Ibis. Unfortunately it was dark, and the Glossy Ibis stayed down low mostly out of sight.
The numbers of birds was amazing with no way to even estimate how many.
What an impressive sight!
It was. Everything was on the far side of the open water, but some birds did come over. Couldn’t begin to count, or ID so many. However I did find a large flock of Tundra Swans, a big deal way down here.
