This Great Blue was returning from a test flight, and the sibling was mystified.

This is the young Great Blue I photographed who almost crash landed on me. After looking around me, and the trail, he moved to a high branch, took a leap, and went right back to the safe place he knew.

The other was still nest bound but excited to see the flight, and return.

Note: Since these shots were taken the second bird has learned to fly. Both were missing when I went in the other day. Most likely they explore during the day now but return at night.

    1. Thank you. The young birds left behind always get excited when a sibling returns to the nest. Ultimately they just follow them into flight. They get so excited they just jump off with another bird,
