This was funny. Every time something moved on the other side of the rookery this bird jumped up a stared intently. Maybe he was hungry and tired of guarding the nest spot.

Finally frustration set in, and the bird started calling…repeatedly and loud13.

I didn’t see any other Heron show up. When the mate finally did I bet there was some ‘conversation’ about coming home on time.
