Taken on a dike between 2 large marshes.
When you see this…
Looking down this crossed over the dike, between the marsh waters. Feet and the tell tale deep rut of the tail.
…You see this
When I walk the dikes one of the things I always photograph is the gators we see along the way. Just a few shots of each.
The other interesting part of this is the ones you don’t see. Reeds cover the edges and at times the sound of a big splash, right off to your side, gets your attention. I mean really, you know what it is when it happens.
Walking the dikes is always great fun, especially when you take someone for the first time. It’s the big splash of the one they don’t see that’s the best.
Note; it doesn’t take a big Alligator to make a large splash. Even the little ones do. But I don’t volunteer that info usually.
