With mating season in full swing any swamp or marsh area near a rookery is like ‘a blue plate special’. There are hungry, and loud, mouths to feed.
You can tell the pressure is on since the usual patient Herons are charging around.
There is competition all over the swamps.
With a rookery a 1/4 mile from here I’m tempted to bring a lawn chair and just sit here. Certainly easier waiting for them to come to me for change.
