Dry Sunflowers

Many of the state owned wildlife areas have fields of Sunflowers.

Smaller songbirds take advantage (which is a reason to grow them) of all the seeds. Also photographers wait in the blistering sun for the perfect shot.

Except me.

ACE Basin can be way too hot to hang out waiting for a tiny bird to ‘maybe’ show up.

The two Gold Finch above happened to be there as I went by.

This Eastern Bluebird was looking a little ‘ratty’ due to seasonal molting.
