Observing, with a camera, the process of banding wild birds. In this case Baltimore Orioles.

Lex Glover of the South Carolina Department Of Natural Resources travels around the state banding and tracking small migratory birds.

One of ‘his’ birds traveled as far as British Columbia, Canada.

It’s never fun for anything to get on a scale. FYI, the bottom of the tube is open and the bird slides right out.

Above is the bird box, holding the Orioles waiting their turn.
Catching these birds takes… Grape Jelly in a cage.
When the process is complete the birds are taken out of the box, one at a time. They are released by just opening the hands holding them. In a flash they are gone!
