A winter visitor to the Lowcountry, a Gadwall.
This particular bird is a female.
I can’t remember the last time I photographed these ducks. They are as shy as the usual migratory birds but I lose them since they tend to mix with other species.

Lately I have walked to an area in a swamp I usually skip. The leaves and brush are not there yet so I can catch water fowl feeding without bothering them. Thanks 😀
