Absolute pandemonium, I loved it.
Several times I was able to wait and the large flocks swam close by feeding.
Off on a road I heard an old truck, then the back fire. We all jumped, but the flock went higher.
I have no idea how many hundreds of birds were here but the exit was spectacular.
I held focus and just hoped I had everything right. No second chances of this.
The moment turned into classic wildlife shots.
But I was wrong and the second chance. They all circled and dropped back down almost right where they started.
2nd photo, pelican on left side with beak open – looks like there might be a little fish jumping in the gap. If that’s the case it’s such an interesting detail!
I’ll check, thanks. There are plenty of times we catch things and never see them until later. ‘Always something happening out there’.
