Another move to drive off the intruding Great Egrets from the rookery.

This time the Egret dropped down to a lower branch rather than fly off. The Great Blues let him stay… big mistake.

It should take less than a day for the Egrets to establish their own claim on this Cypress Tree.

    1. Both actually. A perfect spot is tall, close branches, and completely surrounded by water. Alligators don’t let predators climb to the nests.

Also Great Egrets (and Anhinga) are ruthless. With each other, other nests, horrid birds.
