In the past I’ve compared this to the children’s game ‘King Of The Hill’. They have this uncontrollable need to climb all over branches.

It could be a tree like this, or even a long single branch.

In these shots a poor Cormorant was caught in the middle and watched the nonsense. Eventually he snapped at the pink guys when they got too close. The smaller Snowy Egret just left, a Great Egret ignored them.

    1. They’re fairly large birds. Close to the same size as a Great Egret, but long legs. Some younger ones are like a large Snowy Egret, but the grow some before the first mating. I was confused at first too.
