This was a good find, and a great way to start a day. Especially since it was dull and (for us) a little chilly.
I walked out to the edge of a marsh and found a small flock of Wood Storks feeding in a dip of wet cane.
A few flew off as expected. Most just slowly walked away along the side of the marsh.
These shots, plus a few to be finished, came about because I could walk right along the high side keeping enough distance and wetlands between us for them to be comfortable.
They obviously knew we were there but the slow speed and space was good with the birds.
Wood Storks are large impressive birds, it’s special to be able to walk and photograph them like this.
