In several recent articles about Wood Storks I mentioned following the flight path to find the best photograph spot.
These shots are part of the results.
I was able to get in flight shots, coming and going, as well as the big birds landing and tending the nests.
Even in simple locations I try to use the ‘move your spot’ method. A friend told me some time ago she always takes some shots, moves a few steps, right or left, and takes a few more. It changes the perspective just enough to get a whole new look.
Now to remember that in the ‘heat of the moment’ is the last trick.
