This Great Blue looks to be staying around the swamp rookery for a while.

The summer weather means there is molting happening and the long adult feathers are disappearing. The coloring gets a bit drab too.

Now it’s getting hard to tell a full adult from the younger birds. Unless you watch for a while, the juveniles still crash land once in a while.

BTW, this is an adult, still has the flowing chest feathers.
