Talking to Ellen I saw movement over her shoulder. Pointing, she turned, but they kept coming to us.
Finally…
The furthest Raccoon stopped and sat up. We had been spotted.
He did a turn and trotted off. But never made a sound to alert his siblings. So they never knew he left, and still were unaware we were right in front of them.
Ultimately we all stared at each other. Then they trotted away too.
No real sense of urgency on their part. I assume people are the least of their worries out here.
