This Heron was in a darker corner that can give some nice reflections. Rice fields are wide open marshes, out in the sun. The only time you can get shaded spots like this is on the marsh edge near woodlands.

Lucky it’s also a good spot for the birds to fish. They can see into the water with no sun glare.
