An unexpected hiding Place. Green Heron usually make a straight shot to distant marsh grasses when looking to hide.

Several small Herons all went into this thick tree.

It worked. I had to wait for them to settle down and move around again. I hope they don’t make a habit of this, it’s much easier to find them in the grasses.
It seems a bit curious to me, too, to say these green herons up high in a tree like this! I am used to seeing them at the water’s edge most of the time, ready at a moment’s notice to stab their beaks into something swimming by.
And it wasn’t just one. Several seemed to come and go 😃
