They Have Discovered Fiddler Crabs, Night Heron

There’s a long, but not so wide, canal that connects several large marshes. The water is controlled by the usual opening and closing of trunks.

However, in this spot it runs through a section of tall pines. The deep mud along the canal is home to tiny Fiddler Crabs. Millions of Fiddler Crabs.

This years young Night Herons have discovered the feast.

The canal is on a dirt road not traveled much, and the young birds seem to have moved into the area. Usually solitary birds, except when a big crab dinner is to be had.
