We have had very high tides and storm surges recently.

Pelicans ride the wind and thermals, we often shoot them skimming the waters surface.

I had never seen them follow the wind and waves before though.

We photographed individuals and flocks almost surfing, moving through the waves along the shore. Better yet we caught this just at sunrise.
