This Heron had been down in the swamp hunting. At first it was not much of a shot but I did catch part of his flight up to the Cypress Trees.

Once they get some speed and momentum the trip up and out becomes a nice gentle glide.

Once the females arrive this will be an ongoing trip.
The Herons develop a routine for landing in their chosen Cypress. They stick to it. Many times they don’t get the approach just right and will turn to fly a big circle and start the exact approach all over again.
That means if I screw up the first chance I can get a ‘do over’.
WOW! Nice job.
