I never can ID this duck when out shooting. I always think of the Black Duck.

Well, it’s a Mottled Duck. Larger than most other ducks, yellow flat bill, and regular brown markings.

And… it looks like many other ducks at a distance. At least this time I looked in a field guide 🤣
