This is now one of a series of small arguments, each ending with no real fighting. Getting injured out there is something they all instinctively avoid.

The young Heron spotted an Egret and became defensive.

Up on the very top of the tree, on the dead snag, one of the Great Egrets sat and watched the juvenile below.

Finally the Egret dropped down on his part of the tree. An uneasy peace was restored.
I can’t imagine how many times a day this happens.
