I’ve been told there are only 6 – 7 rookeries like this in the east. Thousands of Pelicans. This photographs shows about 1/2 acre of the 25 acre island.

It’s hard to believe they were almost gone once. In fact Louisiana Brown Pelicans did go extinct from the oil/gas industry until Mississippi birds were moved over.

Look close and you will see the ‘mini’ dinosaurs mixed into the crowds. It’s early on for the babies.
