Black-bellied Whistling Ducks

Black-bellied Whistling Ducks

If we didn’t know where to look these would never have been found. A few months ago we spotted a single duck in a tree here. Now we never go by without a few minutes to check around.

They may be new to the swamps here however they quickly found some of the prime locations.

People around here are still surprised to look up and find a big duck sitting there.

    1. Whistling ducks here stay away from other types, and are usually only in small flocks. Nice I found a flock of around 100. They are new to breeding in the Lowcountry having just moved here in the last 5 or 6 years. Our tropical weather seems to fit them.
