There had been a good number of Wood Ducks around this swamp. A few had large broods, swimming around with a dozen little ones trailing behind.
This single female is the only one still around. Probably a bunch has moved out to the marshes like the other birds.
Wood Ducks are the most common duck in South Carolina.
