Gator Crunching

Gator Crunching

That was what Ellen called out to me. We were on a dike, I hadn’t even left the car yet.

When an Alligator gets that first ‘crunch’, it’s very loud.

Best viewed large.

Many times when we are out something catches the attention of one of us, and demands immediate action. We use ‘freeze’, ‘coming in’, ‘on your left’, and now ‘Gator Crunching’ 😂😂.

The marshes have enormous Blue Crabs. It seems to be a favorite meal.

This local was not all that close, you can imagine the size of both the gator and crab.

Yesterday had been slow at Bear Island, but this helped keep us motivated.

    1. 😁, thanks. The crabs are biggest I’ve ever seen, and obviously tasty. This time I was not as close as I would have liked. Still it’s interesting and a great story to anyone who isn’t around alligators. I see gators getting crabs more often than fish.
