Marsh Head

Marsh Head

When the photo ops slow down we can wait for a moment to spot a ‘floating head’. The locals are reliable.

The weather seems to have made a noticeable shift this year. The number of 90+ days has actually been normal (didn’t feel normal) but the nights never cooled, rain was monsoon often, and humidity ! It’s still hard to imagine 100% humidity with no rain, but it’s here every day.

This has effected wildlife too. Late August and early September sees large flocks gathering, migration from the north, and always lots of activity. I look back at images, even on this site, and it’s obvious.

The Lowcountry is still a wildlife paradise, however things look to have been postponed a little this year.
