Bear Island wildlife area at sunrise (best viewed large).
I managed to be at Bear Island and the surrounding area three times in the last week for sunrise. Odds are I’ve hit my quota for the year.
Below was taken on a dirt road between two marshes. Usually I don’t try to get a star burst type image at dawn, but here the light hit fog so I gave it a try.

I had recently seen in several photography trades landscapes and ideas done with long telephoto lens. Not what I would have thought of first, however I had my long lens mounted on my primary camera and tried these two below.

Bear Island WMA, South Carolina.
Wonderful results!
Thank you. Confirms that I should have 2 cameras with me with different lens at the ready. Not that I’m going to hike around like Ellen with them. I’ve already had them banging and slapping around replacements parts.
Very nicely done, Ted. I am having a hard time getting out even though sunrise is at 8:00 and this a wonderful season to be out with a camera. Maybe later this week. We have had some really cold mornings lately here in Michigan.
I understand that completely. Lucky for me fall and early winter are warm down here. Good thing since these marshes are big and I need to be and at least eyes open around 5 am. 😳
