There’s a large amount of open water here ringed by dikes on three sides. It’s a good spot to look out over the area and catch some wading birds fishing or Alligators floating by.

I tend to use a monopod when standing around here. I don’t need to attempt holding up heavy gear for long periods. Also I can shoot a slower shutter speed for stationary subjects.

I like having a bit of open space around the critters sometimes, especially in this spot.
