There was potential here for some Gator/Egret drama.
The light was very wrong, still I had to grab a few images and be ready since things could happen fast. Good news for the Egret he ate that shrimp before any Alligator got too close.
Look close and you can see three floating heads nearby, while the Great Egret waved the big shrimp around. Not a very good idea.
This is tempting to an Alligator. Also, underwater any one of them could have closed the distance in seconds.
Eventually the Egret swallowed the shrimp.
Crisis averted.
