A Great Egret flew over the marsh towards a dead tree. Since I always try to capture birds in flight I grabbed a few shots. Lucky for me I kept shooting as the bird hit the old tree.

The flight shots were nothing special, or worth keeping. The landing in the tree hit the light and color just about perfect.

I have read when you think the shoot is over take a few more. The action continues to unfold. That’s a sports photography rule, works for wildlife also.

I just need to remember it 😂.
