Immediate disclaimer here ! I had no control, or special position, that gave me this shot. Photographing birds head on, especially tall thin ones, rarely gets anything worth keeping. Most of us don’t even bother.

That said, Spoonbills fly with their head lowered when landing. That’s exactly what happened here.
