The big ones have not had an article of their own for a while. I’ve had these photos uploaded to the site, thought I’d best combine them before I forgot.
The first set are of a local in a swamp down the road. This ramp was one of a few added years ago to keep the Alligators in the water, not on the waters edge. You can see they like it, but really all it did was give them more options.
Next is another in the same swamp. Here he chose the option of the waters edge. This guy was plastered with grasses and dead leaves making him hard to spot. However, even being only a few feet off a trail it was all good. He was soaking up the sun and in a deep coma sleep.
Last was a mid sized gator that had pulled himself out of the water and up a pile of dead reeds. A side swamp was cleared of cattails and reeds. It took the Alligators a day to move in here, brought along a few turtle friends with them.
Alligators are part of the neighborhood so we all do our best to get along.
