Two photographs of Great Egrets I shot last week while in the local rookery.
The first was taken as the Egret passed by closer to the far side of the open water. It was also taken a little wide to include the greenery all around. Including some of the wider Palmetto branches I can get a ‘jungle’ look. At least that’s what I call it.
The second photo is of an adult with the bright green mating color on the lore around the eyes. This fades as soon as the spring is over.
Great Egrets, Charleston, South Carolina.
