This shot shows just how creative the Snowy Egret can be when presented with a school of small fish…and too many big guys to land comfortably.
The Snowy flew by, hovered quickly grabbing the fish on the surface. You can see the water roiling with activity.
Great fun to watch a Snowy act like a Gull.

I don’t see it very often but even the Great Egrets can do this. I’ve never seen a big Heron though.
That’s quite a catch by you and hopefully led to a nice one by the Snowy.
